High Achievement in a Safe and Caring Environment
Our Fine Arts Program
Queen Creek High School’s Fine Arts Department offers an array of courses that not only meet the fine arts requirement, but offer students various opportunities to experience the arts. We offer visual arts courses such as Art Survey, Painting, Drawing, and Ceramics. For those students who have an interest in screen and stage, we offer Cinema, Drama I, and Advanced Drama. Each year, our Fine Arts Department produces a play in the fall and a full musical in the spring. Our Music Department has been consistently growing over the last five years. For our vocalists, we offer Women’s Ensemble and Chorale, which is an SATB Choir. Our instrumentalists can choose from Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Orchestra, or Symphonic Orchestra. We also offer piano and guitar courses for beginners who are looking for a more individualized music experience. Our music programs participate in Arizona Music Festivals such as the Chandler-Gilbert Choral Festival, ChoDA Choral Festival, Marching Festivals, Orchestra Festivals, and Solo and Ensemble. In the past, our ensembles have traveled to San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York City. Our Fine Arts Department offers something for everyone!
Fine Arts Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide a high quality education in the visual and performing arts, while fostering an appreciation of artistic expression for all students. We, as educators, will provide all students the opportunity to learn skills and technologies, to gain knowledge which will facilitate becoming a productive member of society, and to pursue a worthwhile vocation. We hope to mold students who are open to new ideas, are creative problem solvers, and who have critical thinking skills to understand the importance of expressing thoughts and feelings. These skills will help students learn to manage stress and rejuvenate their lives. The arts contribute to both the educational and personal enrichment of a child.
