About Me

I grew up just outside Rochester, NY and moved to Arizona in 1989, because I wanted to live where people went on vacation!

I have lived in Queen Creek for many years with my husband Rob of 22 years, son Jake and our Goldendoodle Jax. My son Jake is a 2015 graduate of QCHS, and attended QCUSD since kindergarten. I am a huge sports fan and love all Arizona teams, especially the AZ Cardinals. I love to read all kinds of fiction and binge watch series in my free time.

I love the kids, my colleagues and community of Queen Creek and am extremely excited to start my 19th year at QCHS. Go Dawgs!

Educational/Professional Background

I graduated with a B.A. in mathematics from the State University of New York at Geneseo, NY in 1987. After many years of working in the fitness and hospitality industries I decided to become a teacher, which is what I had always wanted to do as a child. So, I went back to school and received my post-baccalaureate teaching certificate in 2000. I then went on and achieved my M.A. in education curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2002. I started teaching at Queen Creek High School in the summer of 2000.

About Me

Born in Corvallis, Oregon, I graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Spanish and a master of education, with a teaching license in Spanish and basic math. I taught geometry and eventually Spanish I and II for five years at Lincoln High School, in the 9th Grade Center for Social Justice located in San Diego, California. While at Lincoln, I was involved in designing our geometry sequence and curriculum, facilitating professional development of Quality Teaching for English Learners, and multiple equity and social justice trainings. I also held a role as an assistant coach with the varsity boys basketball team, where we won a state championship in 2010 and went to three consecutive state final fours in California’s second highest division.

In 2012, I received an offer for a basketball coaching position in Beijing, China for six months. When I returned in 2013, I accepted an assistant position coaching the men’s team at Northwest Christian University. There, we won two conference championships, went to three national tournaments, and had multiple All-American, MVP, and Coach of the Year at the NAIA level. I also facilitate training with the Oregon Center for Educational Equity, working with teachers and district staff on addressing the racial achievement gap through education and culturally informed best practices.

I am thrilled to move to the Queen Creek area and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Bulldog family!
